Medisoft is looking for a driven and enthusiastic Software Engineer to join our team in Leeds. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Medisoft is the UK’s foremost supplier of electronic records for ophthalmology and our vision is to transform the practice of ophthalmology by means of advanced technology.
Our systems support every aspect of ophthalmic assessment and treatment. They provide paperless working to allow instant access to patient information from any location, allowing clinicians to deliver better, safer care and rapid audits of clinical outcomes.
Our main product, Medisoft Ophthalmology, is used routinely at over 150 hospitals worldwide to help clinical teams assess vision defects and save sight.
Our innovative Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, mediSIGHT, is used by around 70 organisations. mediSIGHT will replace Medisoft Ophthalmology as Medisoft’s flagship product, consolidating over 20 years of product development and user feedback. mediSIGHT is localised for a number of European markets and is live in three languages currently; English, French, and German.
About the Software Engineer role:
The successful candidate must have experience of developing commercial enterprise systems using C#.NET having ideally done so in an agile development environment. Health domain experience would be a benefit but is not essential.

Your responsibilities as our Software Engineer will include:
- Contributing significantly to the development and maintenance of the system by implementing new features and improvements, investigating and fixing defects and writing unit tests on all code
- Developing and maintaining supplementary tools and scripts required to support the main system
- Participating in code reviews to gain feedback from colleagues and give feedback to colleagues to help to improve the overall code quality
- Compiling timely, comprehensive, and accurate documentation
What we are looking for in our Software Engineer:
- Hands-on experience of full project life cycle from initial analysis and design through to coding, testing and maintenance
- A good grasp of object-oriented programming and all current coding guidelines around C#.NET
- In-depth knowledge of development environment, tools, and external libraries within the .NET technology stack
- Experience of MVC/HTML/CSS/JavaScript/XML, web services and web development
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL scripting
We don’t expect specific knowledge of ophthalmology, but we’re looking for a quick learner who will become committed to our product, our market, and how we can improve the practice of specialist eye care.
