Software Engineer - Back End
The Ambassador Theatre Group is an extraordinary success story in the live entertainment industry. Founded in 1992 in the UK, we’ve grown into the world’s number one live-theatre company today. We cover every discipline in the theatre industry, from operating venues to ticketing platforms and producing shows. We are passionate about great shows and our ambition is to help them find the largest possible audiences.
We are actively looking for recruit a full-time, experienced Software Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. This role is based at our Head Office on Shaftesbury Avenue, London, however we have a flexible remote working policy. You will be required to be in the office at least once per quarter. You’ll report to an Engineering Manager and work closely with a close-knit team of engineers, designers, and product managers.
At ATG, digital product and technology are core to our ticketing business, we're building a state-of-the-art platform, using modern technologies to power the future of the theatre-going experience. In our stack you'll come across things like TypeScript, React, Redux, Styled Components, GraphQL and Node.js. We run everything in the cloud – utilising services from providers like AWS and Cloudflare and deploying using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Serverless Framework. CI/CD pipelines help us to release to production via automated testing and workflows.
The ideal candidate will be someone with a track record of working with engineering and product management supporting and embedding a world class product development and engineering culture and organisation.
Your skills, qualities, and experience.
Essential
- 3+ years of professional development experience.
- 3+ years of experience working in NodeJS and able to demonstrate strong JavaScript knowledge
- Familiar with code versioning tools such as Git
- Proven history of working in complex NodeJS applications
- Strong experience with AWS as a platform
Desirable
- Experience in the following AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, EventBridge and Step Functions.
- Cloud databases: AWS DynamoDB (or another NoSQL)
- Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform and/or Serverless)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
