Job description

We are looking for passionate, motivated individuals to join our inaugural Software Engineering Degree Apprentice programme designed to kick-start your career in the tech industry.

Our degree apprentice programme is offered as a fully funded degree course taught at Swansea University and will expose you to traditional academic learning as well as work-based learning, which will cover all facets of the software development lifecycle. You'll gain hands-on experience in front-end and back-end programming, focusing on our core technologies - PHP, JavaScript, JQuery using the Vue framework, and MySQL.

As you embark on your degree our team of seasoned professionals as well as your tutor at University will fully support your journey, providing one-on-one guidance and support. Furthermore, we're committed to your professional growth and after your degree programme concludes we hope to continue to offer you fully funded ongoing training to continually advance your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with our agile team of developers, testers, and project managers.
  • Be part of the team developing software features with an emphasis on both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, learning about all aspects from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Adhere to ISO27001 and 9001 standards, ensuring high-quality software and data security.
  • Participate in regular scrum meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

What You'll Need:

  • A strong interest in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Applicants with a mathematics background and some coding experience will also be considered.
  • A strong passion for technology, learning, and personal growth.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team.
