Salary: £39,200 - £47,400 + up to £5,000 skills allowance

We are looking for experienced Front-End, Back-End, Full stack and DevOps Software Engineers to come and join our expanding community of Software Engineers here at The Office for National Statistics.
As one of our 170 software engineers, you will work collaboratively in our multi-disciplinary teams on some of our exciting, technologically complex projects.
You'll be able to design systems based on specific requirements, taking into account business impact and technical complexity, and will be confident investigating issues and developing fixes as well as designing, implementing and executing a wise range of testing techniques.
As an experienced member of one of our teams, you'll have some experience in providing mentorship and/or coaching to junior members of staff, and will be happy to bring this with you into your new role with us.
This advert covers potential roles in multiple teams, so as such has multiple tech stacks detailed below. You will be asked to specify which area you are applying for in your application.
You'll be familiar with one of the following tech stacks:
- Design System Team stack: JavaScript/Node, Web (HTML/CSS), Sass CSS, templating languages (eg. nunjucks) & Build tools (eg. webpack, Gulp)
- Social Surveys Support stack: MS Visual Basic, SQL, C#, Python, Blaise 4/5, Google Cloud
- Prices team stack: Cloud technology (preferable Google Cloud but others still considered), Core JavaScript, Angular framework, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, some experience of RESTful API integration
- Life Events Data Repository stack: Javascript/Java/Spring Boot, Python, Git, Cucumber, Database & SQL/PLSQL & ReactJS
