NET Recruit are delighted to be partnering with a market leading electronics business, operating within the marine industry, to assist them in their search for a knowledgeable Software Engineer to join the team in the greater Poole area. The position holder will join a fast paced, successful team, working on exciting projects and applications to support and underpin the offerings of the business with updated and technologically advanced software engineering.
Your Role and Responsibilities
While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
- Working as part of the team in designing software and firmware applications that fully support the extensive product range offering
- Delivering software systems, firmware systems, applications and also modules
- Undertaking the design, research, prototypes and reviews
- Maintaining the systems to ensure they are optimised, upgrading and implementing new systems when required
- Conducting integration and unit testing for software
- Collaborating with internal teams to suggest highly useful recommendations for future updates and creations that strive to cover ongoing changing demands
- Working as part of the wider team to work on business improvement, including taking part in training and periodical reviews when needed
What you will need to Apply:
This forward-thinking business is keen to hear from outstanding applicants with a minimum of a few years experience (at least 2 years) in software engineering and ideally possessing a degree qualification, or equivalent, in Computer Science or a comparable subject. Technical, hands-on skills, that are relevant for this role include designing and writing scalable code using structured design methodologies, designing software for and utilising embedded systems, implementing ergonomic user interfaces and creating software design diagrams and flow charts. Knowledge that is needed for this role includes C++, C#, .NET framework, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL and version control systems and code libraries.
