Job description
Microsoft’s Intelligence Platform engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like Power BI, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Explorer. We will bring the world’s data to the Microsoft Cloud, power a new class of data first applications, and empower everyone on the planet to make better decisions with data.
We do not just value differences or different perspectives. We seek them out and invite them in so we can tap into the collective power of everyone in the company. As a result, our ideas are better, our products are better, and our customers are better served.
The working population on the planet is over 3 billion people. Our opportunity with Power BI is to empower everyone to make better decisions with data - starting with the 300 million information workers using Office 365.
The Power BI authoring team’s mission is to make it easy for someone to build a model and gain insights from their data without having to be a data scientist or having any prior background in analytics. We’re focused on providing a seamless and delightful user experience across both the powerbi.com SaaS application and the desktop application, Power BI Desktop, which functions similarly under-the-hood to an Electron application.
We’re looking for proficient full-stack engineers to develop amazing end-to-end features across the web and desktop, so people can easily extract the full value of their data. For the back-end components, you will solve hard problems creating a data modeling engine that can be hosted in the cloud, as well as inside a traditional Desktop application. You’ll help build and operate services with world-class availability, performance, and scalability. For the front-end components, you will deliver modern user interfaces that are performant, reliable, secure, responsive, and accessible. You will apply the latest open-source web technologies, such as React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5.

- Collaborate effectively within the team and with partner teams across Microsoft.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence, inclusion, collaboration, and customer focus.
