The overall vision within the Finance Platform is to promote value for our customers, colleagues and partners.
Your role will be part of a cross-disciplinary team in addition to being a highly experienced member of our wider Lloyds engineering team. As part of these teams, our Engineers are encouraged to demonstrate and apply exemplary software engineering approaches, whilst working in a collaborative and agile environment.

Our new Engineer will help our platform deliver business value through fully rounded engineering methods and technologies, ensuring platforms and software are built consistently with relevant patterns and practices. They will be able to continually develop themselves with industry standard methodology and tooling used across their engineering teams.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer in the Finance Engineering team, you’ll be working with various stakeholders in the development of a new GCP Environment Build, predominantly working with Finance Data Engineers who will be defining both data mapping and downstream consumption and integration requirements.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Knowledge of software engineering design practices
- We're keen you have been part of a team using Github, source code management and managing change.
- An Awareness of agile methodologies
- Practical experience of designing low-level design documents
- Good coding/scripting experience using Python and Terraform or Powershell
And experience in these would be a bonus:
- Exposure to GCP cloud tooling
- JIRA/Confluence, ServiceNow - Incident, Change and Problem Management
Please note that successful candidates will be required to complete a GCP qualification within the first six months of joining the team. This qualification is key part of our commitment to ensuring the highest level of expertise and skill in our GCP team, and we will provide support and resources to achieve this goal
