Who are we looking for
We are looking for a keen software engineer to join the Commercial Change team and develop rating engines. You will be a highly competent software engineer and we will help you learn how to develop Commercial insurance rating engines.
This role can be mainly undertaken from the comfort of your home.
Who you will be working with
Primarily you will work in a squad alongside Pricing and Underwriting analysts, Test Engineers, fellow rating engine developers and the Product Owner.
What you'll be doing as an experienced Software Engineer
You will be responsible for enabling Commercial to achieve its strategic objectives mainly by developing new products, changing existing products and resolving incidents.
Construct, review, perform technical analysis on User Stories during the Story Refinement process. This guides our product roadmaps.
Lead solution design work on for new features working with third party providers, internal stakeholders and your squad.
Be responsible for planning the sprint backlog development, managing and resolving conflicts with other development activities throughout the life of each project.
Raise and manage dependencies, risks and issues within your or the squad’s control. Support is on hand to guide or lead something on your behalf.
The Commercial insurance rating engines are primarily built within the Polaris Product Writer application and the Willis Towers Watson Radar application. Training will be provided to enable you to use your transferrable skills to develop Commercial insurance rating engines.
Longer term you could progress into other squad roles (e.g. analyst, test engineer, product owner or scrum master) or perhaps you would like to gain more experience managing budgets, managing people or driving delivery strategy.
Hours: Full Time, 35 Hours, Monday - Friday
