Introduction
This role is primarily remote, with travel to Cheshire required approximately once or twice per month. The rest of the work can be done from home.
My client is a Defence, Aerospace and Manufacturing consultancy who are looking for an experienced IT professional to support the Windchill PDM solution, as well as general engineering applications. You will be part of the team responsible for the delivery and support of engineering and manufacturing solutions.
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the Windchill solution, and any configuration changes that are deemed necessary.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert and technical lead for PTC Windchill PDM with a particular focus on administering, configuring and modifying workflows within the tool.
- Perform software upgrades and data migration, to include associated products such as PTC Creo.
- Regular software maintenance, performance tuning and patching, including out of hours.
- Plan works with the Head of Service ensuring operational integrity and compliance covering information security, change management, asset management and software licensing.
- Lead troubleshooting of all related service issues including management of vendors to ensure service operates as expected.
- Support the development and implementation of key service level agreements (SLAs).
Skills & experience
- In depth experience with Windchill
- Previous experience managing incidents, problems and changes to the service efficiently and effectively
- Experience with maintaining system documentation, supporting procedures and rota/cover arrangements
- Experience supporting effective supplier performance and repairs contracts
- Previous experience with risk identification and advising on how to reduce these
- Experience with Creo, AutoCAD, Matlab, mentor Graphics and Ansys would be advantageous
