Summer Internships: R&D UK
- At MediaKind UK, we offer internship programs for students who want to pursue long-term career opportunities withinHigh Tech and Product industry.
- Our internship offers deep learning insights into the Media domain - focusing on leading edge product and solution development, and diagnostics within the exciting world of Media Technology (Streaming, Broadcasting, OTT, Video on-Demand and Cloud based solutions).
- This summer we are hiring two software interns to be part of our Southampton R&D team.
- We will provide you with the opportunity to be part of our development scrum teams delivering real value to our customers.
- This will be an amazing opportunity to get real world experience of how development teams deliver and deploy high quality software continuously and at scale.
- The internship will be tailored to fit you depending on whether your preference is for Dev Ops or software development.
- You’ll be assigned a mentor to help guide you along the journey and by the end you’ll be experienced with code repositories such as git, gain some coding and scripting skills, understand continuous integration and deployment, understand ways of working such agile as scrum, software testing and much more.
- You’ll be exposed to technologies such as python, C++, C#, Go, bash, Kubernetes, docker, Jenkins, groovy, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, AWS.
- At the end of this excellent internship and with the skills we’ll give you, you’ll be ahead of your peers when applying for full time roles after university… or maybe you’ll decide to join us permanently in the future.
- The internship is paid with flexible dates between June and September 2023
- We offer a hybrid work pattern, working from home and using the opportunity to work and collaborate with colleagues at our new office located at Charlotte Place in Southampton city centre.
- Ideally you will be in your 2nd or 3rd year, studying a full time degree course in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Management, Operational Research (or a related discipline)
- You will have practical experience of software related tools for source code management using GIT and IDEs such as VSCode and PyCharm
- An ability to be able to demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving, analyse problems and be able to clearly communicate solutions to colleagues
- An ability to be able to pick up new tools, languages and frameworks.
- A willingness to contribute, be part of a team and have fun!
