As a Higher Level Apprentice at Fujitsu you will be allocated to one of our Junior Talent Role streams. Each role stream will provide you with the specific training, network and support you need to get off to a flying start in your careers at Fujitsu.

To compliment the role stream specific training, you will also undertake a modular development programme. This covers key skills such as self-awareness, leadership, business awareness and business knowledge. Each module will provide you the opportunity to take charge of your own development and allow you to expand your network with the full Junior Talent cohort across Europe.

Fujitsu are running an exciting apprenticeship programme where you will be enrolled on a three-year Level 5 Apprenticeship in Software, Cloud & Application Development.

You will be aligned to Software Development, which will enable you to develop your skills in Digital Engineering (Software, Platform & DevOps) Testing and Agile disciplines . Throughout your apprenticeship programme you will:

As part of your apprenticeship, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team carrying out activities such as:

  • Working with both external and internal customers to deliver exciting customer projects that have relevant business challenges within different industry and government sectors
  • Create great software products by using a broad range of digital technologies
  • Gain experience of industry leading methods, tools and standards to deliver exceptional digital experiences for our customers
  • Developing and growing your technical skills by collaborating with more experienced team members
  • Opportunity to experience different roles in the Digital Engineering lifecycle
  • Growing critical communication and collaboration techniques

Fujitsu Software Developers work across a variety of business areas, if successful you would be selected to work within any of the following areas:

  • Shared Services Business – This team works across a variety of different contracts. The work is varied from supporting frontline Policing systems, Government Applications, and much more. The role will involve the maintenance, support and administration of Microsoft Applications and working collaboratively with colleagues. We structure the work in a way that you will often work across more than one contract so there are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills along the way. When you join you will become a member of our family of Microsoft Business Applications professionals. You will receive training and encouragement to further develop your career, pursue accreditations and make a difference.
  • DVA Account within our PBS Business – If successful and selected to work on our DVA account you will be carrying out agile development sprints. This role will require you to work on workstreams, completing and developing automated test scripts for the systems we have. You will be developing small features and bug fixes for applications and carrying out system support work by looking into incidents and investigating these in order provide solutions to rectify any issues that have arose.
  • AMCS - Application and Multi Cloud Services Business - working as an Applications Support Engineer in a high performing team delivering applications support and development services to our customers. This role will involve Application and system support and enhancements of critical software applications in an Agile DevOps team. You will be responsible for the provision of application support and development services, either directly to users of the applications or to service delivery functions.

Entry Requirements:

  • English and Maths GCSEs (Grade A-C or Level 4 or above) - proof of academic qualifications required at the application stage
  • 64 Tariff points
  • Experience or interest in IT
  • Some applicants may not have traditional qualifications as listed above, and have prior learning and skills developed from the workplace, these will be considered on a case-by-case basis
