We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic software developer to design and implement front-end applications to support our work in electricity system decision-support models. You will be a central part of our research group and will be responsible for developing visually intuitive platforms displaying electricity system data and key outputs from our decision support models. We have a portfolio of electricity decision-support tools written in Python programming language and you will be expected to lead the work on developing an innovative front-end application that helps the end-users to interact with the models.
You will need:
- expertise in front-end development preferably in React JS or Dash Plotly
- experience working with Python to troubleshoot and streamline the back-end
- while not essential, familiarity with the electricity system data and decision support models is desirable
You will be expected to lead the work on the development of front-end applications, seek feedback and showcase the work to external partners. There is a possibility of hybrid working for this position with occasional visits to the university of Strathclyde.
This is a fixed-term position for up to 6 months with possibility of extension, subject to funding.
