Software Developer (Product Development Team)

Intellemetrics is a small, but growing, high-tech company based in Paisley that designs and manufactures a range of optical measurement and control instruments for use in the semiconductor, aerospace, astronomy, defence, medical and automotive sectors. We pride ourselves on working with our customers to solve their problems. Our expertise is in using optical techniques in extremely harsh environments to allow us to measure film thicknesses and etch depths to nanometer scales during our customer’s manufacturing processes.

Our customers are world-wide and are generally working at the cutting edge of their field, whether it be developing the next generation smart phone, detecting gravitational waves in space, or creating a general vaccine for all covid strains.

Intellemetrics has a position for a Software Developer as part of our Product Development Team. You will work on software interfaces and front-end GUIs running on industrial PCs under the Windows OS for a range of new measurement instruments. You will be passionate in using and developing your software skills to help your team create exciting new products building upon our present optical technologies, algorithms and software base.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate who will join a small, but experienced team and whose role would grow with the company to become involved in many aspects of the business from initial talks with customers, through product design and development, into manufacturing, testing and global customer support.

Essential

· Proven capability to program GUI’s in an object oriented manner using a programming language such as C++, C# or even Delphi.

· 1st or 2:1 BSc or MSc in an engineering, physics, computer science or other science/technology-based course, or alternatively at least 2 years object-oriented programming experience in industry.

· A desire and an ability to learn new skills.

· A desire to solve customer issues.

Desirable

· Experience with Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi based projects, possibly at hobby level, with the ability to optimise and debug them.

Basic salary will be in the range £35k to £60k depending upon experience. The company operates a company-wide bonus scheme.

Flexibility in work hours can be offered.
