Informa has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Fullstack Engineer to join the Global Technology remit within Informa. At present Global Technology is going through a period of change, including agile transformation expansion and evolution, initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager and under the mentorship of our Lead Engineers, you will be embedded within a dynamic and recently formed Scrum team, serving business as usual activities (incl. maintenance and support), whilst primarily focusing initially on the following technologies: LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• 
  Design and develop front and back-end applications aligning with best practice standards

• Participate in the improvement of legacy code and architecture

• Participate in the evolution of new code and scalable architecture

• Actively review and enhance product performance

• Perform cross-browser testing

• Contribute to the on-going evolution of system documentation

• Support self-organisation within the Scrum team

Skills:

You can demonstrate functional knowledge in the following technical areas:

• Developing applications using LAMP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery

• Expertise with XML, MVC and CMS (Modules, Themes, Site-building)

• Knowledge with RESTful-APIs

• Working with caching mechanism (e.g. Memcache)

• Utilising CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap

• Version control using GitHub, Bitbucket or equivalent

• Testing and debugging using industry standard tools (e.g. Browserstack, Postman)

• Design editor for PSD access using Photoshop

• Development issue tracker software such as Jira or equivalent

• SEO (Search Engine Optimization) principles

• Agile methodology and related frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban

• TDD (Test Driven Development) and/or BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) concepts

Experience:

• Completed qualification in software development technologies and processes

• Development of a desktop and/or mobile application

• Proficient in web technologies & tools

• Working within a team and independently to achieve a specific objective
