The Senior Software Developer will develop a variety of solutions and internal business applications through integration of third-party vendor software. Your ability to effectively communicate, build rapport and demonstrate leadership amongst the internal team members such as other Developers, Project Leaders, Business Analysts, and Integration Analysts and third-party vendors will empower you to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time and batch data integration processes in azure using a variety of data engineering and data processing technologies
• Develop Restful API's in the Azure cloud utilizing serverless compute
• Consistently write, translate and code software programs and applications according to specifications. In addition to facilitating and participating in code reviews you will assist in all areas of the typical application lifecycle, from the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications, development, testing and deployment.
• Conduct research on and recommend emerging application development software products, tools, languages and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Develop and teach less senior developers
• Recommend, schedule, perform and coordinate software improvements and upgrades.
• Manage and monitor software performance tests (including Unit, System, Integration, Performance, and ad-hoc trouble-shooting) on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement and general debugging.
• Administer critical analysis of test results and delivering solutions to problem areas, and provide feedback to analysis/training staff about performance considerations/usability issues concerning software specifications and implementations.
• Seek training and development activities related to the industry.

Required

• Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) in the field of computer science or software engineering
• Five plus years equivalent work experience and/or training
• A minimum of five years software development experience
• 3 years programming experience using C#, Java, or Python
• Experience developing
  • in either Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Restful API's in the cloud
  • event based processing
  • against relational databases
  • against NoSQL databases
• Demonstrated knowledge in developing real-time data integration/data engineering processes in the cloud using technologies like Functions, Spark Streaming, Streaming analytics, and EventHub or Kafka
• Experience developing batch data integration/data engineering processes in the cloud using technologies like Data Factory, Data Pipeline, or Stitch
• Proven SQL development experience and understanding
• Hands-on software trouble-shooting experience.
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Preferred

• Experience in the financial industry
• Experience with Apache spark
• Experience developing in Azure
