Who we are looking for

A hands on Software Development Technical Lead to work on our flagship product and work closely with the team to help them implement correct high quality technical solutions.

Within the Site Services team we are developing, enhancing and supporting our online transactional processes platform; from the delivery of real time content across multiple devices, the sports website, mobile and tablet products, to the processing and settlement of transactions. We are looking for someone who wants to stay close to technology and influence solutions.

The team operates as a full stack team. Core skills within the team are Golang and Typescript, and we would like you to have solid experience in one or both of these technologies. However, the tech stack also covers SQL, .Net and Web API, Nodejs, HTML5, CSS3.

The day to day work is interesting, challenging and fast paced amidst a hardworking and delivery focused Company ethos. We hire people with a broad set of technical skills who are ready to tackle some of technology’s greatest challenges.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

Commercial experience with leading development solutions.
Ability to work in a pressured environment.
Ability to show patience in mentoring and coaching staff.
Good technical documentation skills.
High standards of work and attention to detail.
Proven track record in high availability multi browser compatible development.
Experience of working with high availability, multi user, service based systems.
Degree educated in Computer Science of relevant discipline, or relevant professional experience.

Main Responsibilities

Assisting in driving the provision of scalable, maintainable, performant systems.
Applying active governance around overall solution design, code quality, coding rules and coding standards with the team.
Reviewing the team’s adherence and output.
Ensuring solutions meet the needs of the business.
Taking responsibility for work estimation, producing solution documents and ROMs, and ultimately ensuring accurate portrayals of effort can be obtained and subsequently delivered upon.
Having or gaining an in depth understanding of the technical structure, domain and architecture of the systems the team is responsible for and how those systems are configured in the development and production estate.
Working with all stakeholders, including principal and senior development, to create fit for purpose solutions.
Owning technical solutions from development to live at low level.
Distributing knowledge and mentoring of team members.
