Job description
We’re looking for an experienced Housing Allocations Team Leader to join our Housing Allocations Service.
You’ll be responsible for providing supervision, guidance, and development to a team of officers in the delivery of the city councils housing register and allocation of affordable housing.
You’ll thrive in a faced-paced environment and under sometimes challenging circumstances and be great at finding solutions and promoting excellent customer service. You’ll ideally have experience in allocations and good knowledge and practical application of the relevant housing legislation.
This role is based in our city centre offices and requires a DBS check.
Role Responsibilities- Responsible for the effective delivery of the Council’s housing register and allocation of affordable housing.
- You will be an advocate for collaborative working with internal services and external agencies.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent partnership working with registered providers ensuring we are nominating properties in line with agreed timescales.
- Line manage a team of officers and support offers, carrying out one to one meetings, evaluating training needs and monitoring performance.
- Responsible for managing the services workflows ensuring issues are quickly identified and resolved.
- Responsible for ensuring the service is meeting agreed objectives and targets
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other services and agencies.
- Excellent leadership skills, work well under pressure, have attention to detail and have proactive problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative, manage and organise work, write reports and complaint responses.
- Demonstrate good knowledge and experience of implementing the relevant housing legislation for the allocation of affordable housing
