- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience working directly within engineering teams
- Experience managing engineers
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

In this role, you will help develop and drive the Fire TV roadmap and product vision and you will have a high degree of ownership in critical features and user experiences. The role is inherently cross-functional -- you will work closely with software engineering, device launch, customer service, and executive stakeholders. A successful candidate should be able to manage the tactical tasks of delivering products while simultaneously defining and driving strategic product planning for forward looking initiatives.
Job responsibilities
- Help develop technical roadmap, strategy, customer experience and roadmap for FireTV product initiatives
- Facilitate the technical architecture between multiple complex systems.
- Create buy-in for the technical vision and strategy both internally and with key external partners
- Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, schedule, performance and cost
- Proactively identify and resolve technical risks and issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic or technical goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team to deliver the best product for our customers
- Experience managing high performance team and a track record hiring and building a team

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
