About the role


Pay Details: Grade 8, SCP 26 – 30 £32, 909 - £36, 298 p.a. / Grade 9, SCP 31 – 35 £37, 261 - £41, 496 p.a.

Salary on appointment will depend upon qualification and experience as determined by the appointing officer. There is no automatic progression from Grade 8 to Grade 9

Hours of Work: 37 hours / Full time

Main Place of Work: Barry / Agile Working


About you


You will need:

  • A recognised Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification in Social Work i.e. Degree, DipSW, CQSW etc.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • Experience of Social Work with children, young people and their families / carers.
  • Experience of multi-agency working
  • Knowledge of the principles of the Children Act, Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act, guidance and national standards.

A little more information about the teams:

We are looking for qualified Social Workers to work in our Child Health and Disability Team

Social Workers in our Child Health and Disability Team provide services to children and young people who have a severe or significant learning disability, physical disability, sensory impairment, or profound communication impairment. They have strong multi-agency links, particularly with Health. You will play a role in responding to new referrals to the team and in ensuring we provide an effective initial response and will develop longer term relationships with families to help them achieve what matters to them.

Work will be purposeful and risks will be managed confidently. The Team is well resourced to enable workers to operate in a timely way but also with time to reflect.

In The Child Health and Disability Team, workers are able to be kind, consistent and focussed in their work with children, young people and their families / carers. Managers are readily available and staff wellbeing is a priority.
