The Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership (GHSCP) is on a journey to radically change the way in which Social Work delivers support and services. One of our areas of development has been the introduction of the Care Home Quality Assurance Team. This is an integrated health and social work team tasked to promote a high standard of care and review across the care home sector in Greater Glasgow & Clyde. We are seeking an energetic, talented, resilient, committed person to come and work with us in Glasgow. We have a key priority in relation to shifting the balance of care across both service areas, promoting more effective early intervention and preventative supports. You will be part of the newly formed Care Home Quality Assurance Team, which is a Citywide resource, at the beginning of its journey. The team are currently providing quality support, alongside the completion of statutory responsibilities for care home residents within Glasgow and beyond. This team will work to ensure that every care home resident assessed as requiring long-term care within a care home environment has an integrated approach to care, a person centred care plan which reflects their needs and robust risks assessments to ensure the welfare and safety of all residents. You require to have a sound knowledge of assessment and care management; have practiced extensively under the relevant legislation; and work in a person centred manner which will be fully embedded in your practice. A minimum of one years' post qualifying experience and completion of Local Authority Adult Support & Protection Council Officer training is essential. Experience of Large Scale Investigations (LSI) would be beneficial although not essential. Have a good knowledge and understanding of Adults with Incapacity Legislation (AWI) and be aware of Individual Service Agreement (ISA) procedures. The integrated team consists of social work, nursing and commissioning colleagues, working closely together to ensure a holistic and multi-disciplinary team approach to quality assurance across Glasgow. Part of this role will also entail providing support to student social workers while they are on placement as part of the Learning and Development Student Hub model. Opportunities will be available to undertake link worker training, if not already completed. Commitment to post qualifying training such as practice teaching where appropriate would be expected. You must possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent). As Scottish Social Services Council registration is a statutory requirement for this post under the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001, you must either be already registered or be registered within 6 months from the date you start in this post. Your employment is subject to your continued registrations.
