Focus Care Supported is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in providing exceptional care for a service user with learning disabilities in Peterborough area. The ideal candidate will have shared interests with the service user, such as enjoying Sunday roasts, girly shopping trips, and engaging in light-hearted chats, ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment tailored to the service user's specific needs and preferences.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the service user with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
Provide companionship, emotional support, and encouragement to promote the service user's well-being and independence.
Accompany the service user to appointments, social events, and other outings, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
Engage in shared interests and activities with the service user, such as Sunday roasts, shopping trips, and light-hearted conversations.
Collaborate with the service user, their family, and other members of the care team to develop and implement a personalized care plan.
Maintain accurate records of the service user's progress, care activities, and any changes in their condition, reporting any concerns to the appropriate team members.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Support Worker or in a similar role within the healthcare or social care sector, particularly with individuals with learning disabilities.
- A strong understanding of and appreciation for diverse cultural backgrounds and values, with a focus on providing culturally sensitive care.
- Shared interests with the service user, such as enjoying Sunday roasts, shopping trips, and engaging in light-hearted conversations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and trust with the service user and their family.
- A valid driver's license (Manual)
