Tide House is an Ofsted "Good" registered Residential Family Assessment Centre, providing high quality, evidence-based parenting assessments for family courts and local authorities across the South West. As part of our ongoing development, we are seeking to recruit a specialist Social Worker to complete Parenting Assessments.
Applicants must be a Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
We undertake a maximum of four assessments at any one time, within a residential setting. The caseload will not exceed four families, and community-based visits are rarely required. It is anticipated that this role will require no more than 2 days per week at our assessment centre in Devon, with the remainder of the work able to be completed flexibly, for example from home.
This is a full-time position. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Undertaking structured assessment sessions with parents to complete a comprehensive parenting assessment
- Writing and undertaking weekly feedbacks for families to identify areas of strength and areas where improvement is needed, and organising or delivering interventions to meet these identified needs.
- Writing comprehensive, robust and evidence-based Parenting Assessments for the court, structured around the Common Assessment Framework, to inform care proceedings and care planning for children
- Completing Risk Assessments for placed families and children
The successful candidate will have:
- At least 2 years post-qualifying experience of working as a Social Worker in a Children and Families team
- A trauma-informed approach when working with parents and families, whilst ensuring that the assessment is child-focused
- Experience of engaging families to make and sustain positive change, with a strengths-based and solution-focused approach
- A commitment to best practice and ongoing professional development
