Experienced Social Workers, Children and Young People with Disabilities Team
We have an opportunity for experienced Social Workers to join our Children and Young People’s Disability (CYPDT) team in Chippenham, Trowbridge and Salisbury
The service provides a unique opportunity to work with families, children and young people from 0-25 years of age, whether they are child in need, looked after children, safeguarding or assessed under the Care Act as a young adult.
This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to move into either adults or children’s services, as it provides a good background to develop skills and knowledge in both areas as well as learn about all services within our Families and Children’s service.

About the role
The team is comprised of Social Workers and Occupational Therapists, working closely with our Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) colleagues. You will be playing a key role in the delivery of quality services to disabled children, young people and their families.

About you
You will have a recognised social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England and have an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance. Experience as a Social Worker in working with disabled children and/or vulnerable young adults is desirable, but not essential.
Wiltshire Council offers a good induction programme and training will be provided in court skills as well as analytical for those moving into the are children’s services for the first time.

This post receives a 5% market supplement payment for Level 2, and 10% market supplement for Level 3 and Level 4 Social Workers which is reviewed annually.
