Kneesworth House is a mental health hospital situated in Cambridgeshire (on the borders of Hertfordshire) with good commuting access to / from London. The hospital has a full pathway of care including medium, low secure, locked rehabilitation and open recovery wards situated across the site.
The Social Worker role involves being part of a small team of Social Workers who contribute to multidisciplinary team working. The role includes responsibility for identifying the social needs for the patients and ensuring those needs are met. This role also includes detailed risk assessment & management, liaison with families & community networks. There is a key focus on Safeguarding / MAPPA liaison. You will join a ward MDT and have the opportunity to undertake in depth, longer term work with some of the most high need patients in psychiatric hospital. It offers the opportunity to develop your knowledge of mental health issues, good social work practice, the workings of the MHA 1983, complex resettlement preparation and planning, and safeguarding.
The role is permanent and Full-Time (although all applications would be considered).
