An exciting opportunity to join a busy, rural, adult care social work team has become available. We are looking to employ a permanent full-time qualified Social Worker. The successful candidate will be required to work with adults in need of support to remain living in their local community. This client group can be vulnerable, isolated and have multiple health conditions. You will be required to complete Outcomes Focussed Assessments and Reviews to ensure identified outcomes are achieved and ongoing support remains appropriate. The ability to explore all appropriate care and support options and to utilise Self-directed Support Options is essential. You will mainly work with people who reside within their own home within the South Locality of Perth and Kinross, however, part of the role may include reviewing people who reside within care homes on other areas of the locality or outwith Perth and Kinross.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to form positive working relationships with people requiring support along with colleagues from other disciplines is essential in this role. Effective time management is a required skill to enable successful autonomous working and to effectively manage a caseload. The ability to be flexible and respond to crisis/ competing demands being an integral part of the role. You must have experience of providing individual outcome focussed assessments and reviews for people within the community and also for their carers and be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of social work principles and values. Ensuring the Health and Social Care Standards are upheld and in accordance with Eligibility Criteria and Operational Guidelines. You must be able to accept referrals identified as appropriate to the skills and expertise of a Social Worker for assessment and review. Experience of Adult Support and Protection legislation and procedures is essential. You must have a degree in Social Work. You must have a driving licence and access to a car for work.
This post may be suitable for candidates who have recently completed their Social Work Degree but have not yet graduated. In this circumstance, a Social Work Assistant contract will be offered until you receive your qualifying certificate and are eligible to register with the SSSC as a Social Worker.
