Support Worker
Wisbech, PE14
£11.25 per hour
About the Service User:
Support for a 17 year old boy with global development delay, he is non verbal and has hearing and sight loss.
Enjoys messy play, he likes to use his hands and loves to be outside going to the park or animal farms, when his condition allows.
Hours and rate of Pay:
5 hours per week more hours available during the school holidays
£11.25 per hour
Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
What you would be doing…
Supporting this young man in the home environment initially, reading books or another gentle activity, support may also be at an after school club and at your own home.
You will need to be aware of the protocols in place around seizures, body temperature, breathing and suctioning.
As this young man is non verbal you will need to learn his way of communicating through facial expression, sound and his body language.
You will be supporting with some medication, training will be provided.

Someone who has experience of supporting others with complex needs.
It is important that you are friendly and cheerful we ask that you are flexible and punctual.
Someone who is willing to be interactive, you will be encouraging in order to develop skills.
It is important that you have excellent spoken English to aid communication.
