Job description

B41 is a brand new ward within the RUH which has recently opened, specialising in care of the elderly. Our patient require sub-acute care, meaning that they are not yet well enough to be discharged. When they are, our multidisciplinary team work together to plan for a discharge that is safe, and meet the needs of individual patients..

We are a friendly, enthusiastic and supportive team of which we are eager to expand. There is plenty of experiences to be gained, as well as many opportunities to build on your knowledge and skills.

You will work within a team of healthcare professionals, working under the supervision of a qualified nurse. Your duties will include:

  • Personal care duties (eg- washing, dressing and toileting).
  • Nutrition and Hydration monitoring
  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Clinical observations (Eg- Blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturations and temperature).
  • Completion of relevant nursing care plans.
  • Escalate any concerns to a qualified nurse.
  • Use of manual handling
  • Helping patients mobilise safely
