Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Social Worker within Flintshire’s South locality team for Older People. The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Specialist Support Workers. As well as managing your own complex caseload, the role will involve supporting and mentoring other team members (including newly qualified social workers, students and support staff), and supporting the induction and development of new staff members.
There are many benefits to locality working, one being that we are better placed to build and maintain positive relationships and joint working practices with health and voluntary sector colleagues within the local area. This helps reduce duplication and supports a more streamlined service for the citizen.
Flintshire has a good track record for supporting their employees’ wellbeing and career development. This includes regular supportive one to one supervision and opportunities for peer support and training.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strengths-based approach to assessments and care planning, and a commitment to developing locality working.
If you are a team player with a commitment to empowering older people across Flintshire, we want to hear from you. This is a great opportunity for experienced social workers who are ready to take the next step in their career, managing complex cases and providing support and mentoring to less experienced colleagues within the team.
