Introduction

If you care for others without a second thought and are looking for a rewarding career, where you can make a difference and change lives for the better, then a Support Worker at Kingswood House could be the right choice for you. Support Workers can enjoy a £1,000 welcome bonus.

Whether you are looking for a new career or already work in healthcare through the NHS or private sector, you’ll receive training to join the team, where you will be valued and supported, with career development opportunities available.

It’s a career that you can take pride in while enjoying the satisfaction of helping people and seeing them improve. It’s what delivering great healthcare should feel like.
What you will be doing:

You will join an inclusive, supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with learning disabilities. Whether you have experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Care Worker, you will use your knowledge and skills to help support people lead a valued and fulfilled life.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week because of you.

You will have access to the Elysium Wellbeing team, which is on hand to keep you feeling great; be it a chat, massage or group activities. Who doesn’t like a free massage at work?

With a huge range of courses that will help you grow and succeed, if you have the aspiration, capability and dedication, Elysium Healthcare can give you the support and opportunities to help you achieve your career goals.

The shift patterns include working nights and weekends, 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week.

Where you will be working:

Location: Green Arbour Road, Thurcroft, S66 9LY

Kingswood House is a residential service with nursing for adults with a learning disability and/or Autism and a range of associated needs. It’s been designed to meet the needs of the local area for a specialist service to support people with ongoing complex needs and challenging behaviours who are stepping down from hospital or to avoid an inappropriate admission to hospital to enable them to return to their home area.

This small service is made up of six individual apartments which allow people to live in their own home setting and be provided with person centred care, whilst having access to a range of communal facilities to avoid isolation. It’s in the heart of the local community within walking distance of a full range of local facilities and resources.

You will receive a structured and thorough induction training programme before working with the residents, which includes a focus on positive behavioural support and training in the management of aggression and other behaviours of challenge, alongside specialist training in learning disability, Autism, and mental health.

What you will get:
  • Annual salary of £21,548
  • £1,000 Welcome Bonus
  • The equivalent of 33 days annual leave – plus your birthday off!
  • Free meals and parking
  • Opportunity or overtime
  • Wellbeing support and activities
  • Career development and training
  • Pension contribution
  • Life Assurance
  • Enhanced Maternity Package
  • Flexible working opportunities
There are also a range of other benefits including retail discounts and special offers and much more.
