Due to expansion, we are excited to recruit three new Day Coordinator roles for each of our provisions, based in Shamley Green, Liss, and West Horsley. We are seeking unique individuals with the perfect blend of resilience, confidence in working with young people, and a warm and patient demeanor in supporting staff. Job Description: Day Coordinator and Safeguarding Lead

Main Purpose: The Day Coordinator and Safeguarding Lead role at Elysian is a middle management position with the primary responsibility of supporting staff in their engagement with young people during their sessions on the farm. The role holder will be actively involved in day-to-day operations, providing a responsive and supportive presence for staff. As the Safeguarding Lead, the role holder will have overall responsibility for safeguarding practices across the provision, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children and young people accessing Elysian. The Day Coordinator will collaborate with the wider senior team, advocating for both the young people and the staff, and contribute to the overall organisational agenda of providing seamless and consistent care and learning experiences that foster progression.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supporting Staff and Young People: Work closely with staff on the farm, ensuring they are well-supported, and providing guidance on complex needs and behaviours. Offer emotional and practical support to staff and children and resolve any conflicts or behaviour management challenges that may arise.

2. Day Plan Oversight: Oversee and contribute to the smooth running of daily plans, ensuring all sessions and activities are well-coordinated and aligned with the individual needs and goals of the young people.

3. Safeguarding: Oversee all Safeguarding: Assume leadership and oversight of all safeguarding aspects within the provision, ensuring compliance with regulations, addressing incidents effectively, and updating policies to ensure excellent safeguarding practices and managing a safeguarding learning cycle for the provision.

4. Interventions: Deliver both group and individual interventions as required, employing effective strategies to support the development and progress of children and young people.

5. Supervision and Training: Provide day-to-day and overall supervision, support, advice, and training to a range of support staff, helping them increase their confidence and efficiency in supporting children and young people.

6. Incident Management: Manage and contain incidents and events that may occur, ensuring minimal disruption to the services provided to children and young people.

7. Intervention Planning: Support staff in re-designing and planning intervention outcomes, ensuring that interventions are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual.

8. On-call Support: Within working hours, undertake 'duty' and be available 'on-call' to provide additional support to staff or young people when needed.

9. Individual Plans: Contribute to the oversight and coordination of individual plans for children and young people, ensuring their progress and well-being are consistently monitored.

10. Collaboration and Research: Work closely with the leadership colleagues & Intervention on various actions and tasks associated with service development, improvement, and organisation. Undertake relevant research as needed.

11. Confidentiality and Professionalism: Maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professionalism in all interactions and actions.

12. Learning Sessions and Training: Prepare and deliver structured learning sessions for groups and individuals, including workshops and learning plans/lessons when applicable. Provide coaching and training for learners, junior, or new staff.

13. Liaison and Promotion: Liaise with young people, their carers/parents, and relevant professionals to provide progress reporting and follow-up. Contribute to the overall promotion activities of the organisation.

14. Ethos and Organisational Agenda: Support the overall ethos and aims of the organisation, which may include ensuring the well-being of animals and participating in developmental or maintenance tasks.

15. Additional Duties: Undertake a range of duties associated with the oversight and coordination of day-to-day operations and care planning at Elysian.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Social worker and/or relevant experience in a similar role.

· Thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and child protection procedures.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and motivate staff effectively.

· Experience working with children and young people with emotional, social, behavioural, learning, and mental health needs.

Personal Attributes:

· Ability to provide supervision and training to staff, apprentices, and volunteers.

· A proactive and solution-oriented approach to managing incidents and challenges.

· Strong organisational and coordination skills to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

· An empathetic and nurturing demeanor to support both staff and young people effectively.

· Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role.

· The Day Coordinator and Safeguarding Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and development of children and young people accessing Elysian, creating a safe and nurturing environment for their growth and progress.
