Swindon Borough Council has ended the secondment arrangements after many years of social workers being seconded into the mental health NHS Trust. We have formed a new mental health team within the council. You will have sound strength based skills and be passionate about ensuring people with a mental illness are supported to live their best lives.
We are looking experienced social workers in the team and specifically to support discharges and patient flow of our MH inpatient cohort.
Pay Rate - £36.29ph
This is an opportunity to join and shape a newly formed team with high ambitions to support people with a mental illness in Swindon. You will have a sound knowledge of the Care Act and strengths based working and a willingness to learn and develop alongside your team colleagues - experience of mental health social work is preferred but we will consider people who have sound practice skills and are willing to learn more about mental health work.
Your responsibilities are to hold a caseload and support clients who have serious and enduring mental illness. You will be expected to hold a caseload of approximately 25 mental health service users and occasionally co-work with colleagues from other professional disciplines
Candidates need to be competent at writing reports and carrying out risk assessments relating to mental health.
You will be HCPC registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
