Full Time Social Worker/Approved Mental Health Professional in the Mental Health Recovery Team in North Warwickshire.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified social worker/amhp to join our forward-thinking and dynamic multi-disciplinary mental health recovery team.
About us and the role
Mental health services in Warwickshire are delivered via integrated teams and managed by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust in collaboration with the Local Authority. Our Team is around 30 strong and is Multi – disciplinary in nature with Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Support Work. We work closely with Health and use their data systems as part of our s75 agreement with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Mental Health Trust. We provide care to people in our community suffering with a form of psychosis such as schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder. We work using the Recovery model to maximise a person’s potential, strengths and personal recovery by addressing health and social needs such as medication, accessing support for work, education and leisure as well as supporting them in managing their day-to-day mental health needs.
As a Social Worker/AMHP in the team you would be expected to hold a case load of service users with Psychosis and who have long term Recovery needs and help enable them to remain mentally well and gain the true potential in the community. You will also be expected to contribute to the Duty rota with the team and undertake assessments of new service users who are referred into secondary mental health care. You will be expected to champion the Social Model with secondary mental health. As part of your role, you will be actively involved in Safeguarding some of the most vulnerable service users in the County and use Care Act legislation to commission Care Packages and Placements for service users.
We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is person-centred in their approach and passionate about working in mental health. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and will work effectively as both a team player and on their own initiative.
In return for your hard work, you will be able to access both managerial and clinical supervision and will have the support of the Team Managers and Lead Practitioners, as well as attending social care forums. You will have access to a variety of training with both the Mental Health Trust and the Council. You will have the opportunity to train as an AMHP if not already qualified. We also offer support with newly qualified Social Workers through the AYSE programme.
