Salary: Band 7 (Level 2) – Band 8 (Level 3), £30,984 - £36,371 per annum. To aid attraction and retention of Social Workers, Trafford have in place a market factor supplement which is payable monthly and reviewed on an annual basis.

We are looking to appoint enthusiastic individuals to undertake strength based assessments and deliver appropriate person centred support and outcomes for adults with care and support needs. You must be able to work in ways that promote independence, recognise the potential for change and through excellent practice enable people to maximise their strengths.
You must possess good communication skills and be able to work proactively with a range of adults applying a clear understanding of the legislative framework for Adult Social Care. In addition you will be required to provide an effective response to safeguarding enquiries in line with both the Care Act 2014 and local policy and procedures.
The successful candidates will be able to work as part of a team and autonomously and will be familiar working within a Multi-Disciplinary environment. Further, they will have knowledge of working within the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and will be able to effectively and professionally challenge to ensure best outcomes for our residents.

We are currently recruiting qualified social workers to various parts of our service:-

Community Learning Disability Team:

The Community Learning Disability Team works in collaboration with Health colleagues from the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) to complete holistic person centred assessments that promote independence and inclusivity for learning disabled adults. We are formed of a Community Prevention Officer, Social Care Assessors and Social Workers.
We’re looking for skilled and a highly motivated person to work within a busy, challenging and stimulating team – assessing and supporting adults who have a diagnosed Learning Disability and associated needs. Additionally you will work with younger disabled adults and families to support people through a pathway from child to adulthood services.
You will take responsibility for promoting the rights of people with a learning disability, protecting vulnerable adults from harm and Social Workers will carry out safeguarding enquiries in accordance to the guidance and principles of The Care Act 2014.

Community Social Work Teams
We are recruiting social worker to join their integrated community service within our 4 neighbourhood teams.

Our community teams work with adults with various care and support needs. We are looking for skilled and motivational social workers to work within busy and challenging roles. A significant part of your role will be to engage in social care assessments and interventions utilising a strength based and person centred approach. We are looking for skilled individuals who possess an in depth knowledge and understanding of the Care Act 2014 and other key pieces of legislation.
Our teams have several locations across the borough which are easily accessible and have good transport links.

Central Team
The office base is at Sale Waterside in the centre of Sale town which is in the heart of Trafford. It is very accessible as it’s close to both the M60 and the Sale tram station.

North Team
The office base is at Trafford Town Hall, which is the main Council building centrally located in Stretford opposite Lancashire Cricket Club, next to Tesco superstore and close to Manchester United Football ground. Transport links include Old Trafford Tram stop is within a 2-minute walk and bus routes make it easily accessible from Manchester City centre.

West Team
The office base is Partington Health Centre which is located in the local Partington community. The office is accessible from the M60 and close to the M56 network. Our office is shared with colleagues with from health services.

South Team
The office base is Altrincham Health and Wellbeing Centre, in the heart of Altrincham Centre. The office is shared with colleagues from health and children services.
It is accessible by Tram and close to the M60 and M56 motorway networks.

Safeguarding Hub
The team forms a central point of referral for all adult safeguarding referrals into the Local Authority. It is responsible for screening all safeguarding referrals as well as managing a number of complex adult safeguarding cases and providing a response to organisational safeguarding. As a member of the team you will play an active role within a safeguarding team, ensuring proportionate safeguarding responses are provided to adults at risk in line with the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation

Urgent Care & Discharge to Assess
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated applicants who will thrive in a busy work environment. You will be required to arrange safe and timely discharges both from an acute and community settings adopting the discharge to assess model of assessment. Assessments will need to be completed within agreed timescales to ensure best possible outcomes for the residents of Trafford.

Mental Health
We have a number of social workers embedded in our community mental health teams. We are looking for social workers committed to delivering social work interventions to people experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems. We work with colleagues in GMMH to provide multi-disciplinary, coordinated care.
We provide role appropriate supervision and offer training opportunities for Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) authorisation with dedicated AMHP staff will support and guide staff through the training and development.
