Our approach to delivering projects ensures we maximise out contribution to the social, economic and environmental outcomes for clients, supply chain and the local communities. Our Social Value Service Line supports our project teams through engagement with clients, our service offering and the communities we work within. Our team members gain experience on a diverse range of projects working with both public and private clients, local communities and across many varying sectors throughout the built environment.
The purpose of the role is to:
- Shape, develop and lead the Social Value Service Line offering that will provide both strategic support and operational delivery services to our clients.
- Educate, train and raise awareness within our internal project teams on social value.
Working with our Head of Social Value you will provide leadership, support and direction to our social value service team and other teams across the business to enable us to embed social value workstreams across our projects. The role of Social Value Regional Lead is to support social value strategic consultancy and operational service delivery to our clients and out project delivery teams.
The role will involve:

Internal:
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders such as account managers and project leads and support other parts of the business with their win work strategy.
- Develop social value collateral through case studies and social impact reports.
- Develop and deliver training and raise awareness of social value to internal teams and to external clients.
- Support the Head of Social Value in developing and implementing a social value strategy and deliver one systematic approach to designing and embedding social value into everything we do.
- Act as a champion of social value within the business and when representing the business at external events and engaging with clients or suppliers.
- Support internal teams and our supply chain with the skills to maximise our social value outputs and outcomes.
- Advise the business to enable it to secure the best social, economic and environmental outcomes and to meet its targets, including social value, sustainable development and inclusive growth in tender and business development activities; change and organisational transformation and continuous improvement.
- Promote good governance practices and ensure all policies and standards associated with maximising social value and generating inclusive growth are put into practice.
- Develop and deliver social value campaigns and engagement programmes.
- Help to create resources and tools to support the business to understand, implement and embed social value best practice, including analysis, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
- Monitor and benchmark social value reporting trends to inform and shape our practices.
- Remain informed of developments in SV regulatory requirements and present recommendations to the business to continuously improve their social value offer.

External – Client and Supply Chain Focus:
- Managing engagement with clients, communities and other stakeholders when delivering social value initiatives.
- Developing, managing and implementing social value delivery and execution plans for clients and project teams.
- Developing and implementing social value policy, strategy and frameworks for clients.
- Develop a social value strategy and agree kpis with the client based on commitments made at bid stage.
- Be responsible for assembling and hosting social value working groups.
- Creating strategies to embed social value into procurement activities and policies for our clients and supply chain.
- Manage and monitor social value initiatives through projects for clients.
- Producing social value calculations on projects including forecasting, monitoring and evaluations throughout a project lifecycle from feasibility, design & specification, construction and operation for our clients and the communities they serve.
- Expert on using social value toolkits including (but not limited to) TOMS, Social Profit Calculator and Thrive.
- Communicate, capture, measure, share and scale the social value generated.
- Build the practices and processes to enable us to scale social value; the ability to capture and calculate qualitative and quantitative inputs and outcomes.
- Define and be accountable for impact measurement, analysis and reporting at project, commission and framework level.
- Use your knowledge and expertise to promote maximise social value and social return on investment and inclusive growth.
- Provide subject matter expertise and operational advice to stakeholders and clients.
- Be able to communicate the social value successes though internal and external media channels.
Role Requirements:

Essential:
- Demonstrable experience of working with, and influencing stakeholders and clients.
- Experience of managing social value (or aspects of social value activities), ideally in the Built Environment or Infrastructure sectors.
- Self-starter, able to drive the implementation of the Social Value Services, taking business leaders with them.
- Ability to work with a team, and as such have good project management skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to train and mentor junior team members.
- Ability to lead client engagement, being able to create and maintain strong relationships with our clients, in order to sell both social value services and other services from within Faithful+Gould.
- Ability to define and deliver social value initiatives with the benefit of the client and their local communities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head of Social Value on the delivery of Social Value Services to clients.
- Previous experience of developing and selling social value or the ability to drive the creation of value propositions and take them to market.

Desirable:
- Experience of creating and implementing social value policy and strategies for large organisations in the Built Environment, Infrastructure or related sectors.
- Commercial awareness and experience of working within a work-winning environment.
- A good degree qualification in a relevant social/environmental/natural science or similar subject.
- A strong technical understanding of social value methodologies, social impact measurement and monetisation of outcomes.
- A strong technical understanding of social value, economic impact, environmental management, corporate responsibility or sustainability.
- A proven track record of successfully designing and implementing social value initiatives within large organisations for clients.
- Experience of delivering social value projects and programmes working in a client-facing role.
- Experience of building an income stream around social value in the Built Environment or Infrastructure sector.
The post holder will need to be flexible in developing the role in conjunction with the line manager. The post holder may be asked to carry out any other delegated duty or task that is in line with their post, seniority or corporate requirement
