Are you a proactive and motivated Social Media specialist who is passionate about using social media?

We are looking for a self-starter to join the Social Media and Content team at RBL. The ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to take on new challenges, is constantly learning and innovating, and is passionate about using social media to make a difference to our Armed Forces community.

This role requires a creative thinker and capable problem solver, someone who is confident pitching ideas, collaborating with colleagues, and working in a fast-paced environment to timely deadlines. They should be equally comfortable working independently and as part of smaller working groups.

Come and be part of the leading Armed Forces charity, making a difference to the lives of those who have served to keep us safe and protect our way of life.

The Social Media and Content team are responsible for managing, maintaining and developing RBL’s organic social media presence at a national level.

We are actively involved in gathering content by attending events throughout the year, from commemorative events like Remembrance Sunday to fundraising events like London Poppy Day, to supporting Team UK at the Invictus Games. We also visit our services and meet with ambassadors to share content that demonstrates the impact of RBL's work.

The core responsibilities of the Social Media Officer are:

  • Managing day-to-day interactions with our supporters on social media
  • Creating, curating, sharing, and monitoring content across RBL’s social media channels
  • Developing and executing social media campaigns
  • Measuring and reporting on social media performance
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest social media trends, best practices and accessibility

The Social Media Officer should also be a clear and professional communicator, as they will be responsible for building and maintaining close working relationships with the Marketing and other teams to ensure content is joined up and effective in maximising engagement with key audiences

Here at RBL, we aim to support our people and their wellbeing, with a package including generous paid holiday allowance and pension scheme contributions, and a range of optional benefits and discounts.

You will be contracted to our London Haig House Hub. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.

For more detailed information about the role, please see our Vacancy Information Pack attached to our direct advert.

RBL is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive organisation, reflecting the diversity of the armed forces community and of wider society. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and personal characteristics and aim to operate an inclusive recruitment process.

Closing Date: 12/07/2023

Interview Dates: WC 17/07/2023

We may close this vacancy early if we believe we have enough strong applications to be able to successfully fill the role(s). Interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
