We are looking for an energetic and passionate Social Media and Marketing Assistant, to join our creative team at Mothership Group, head office based in Shoreditch.

Mothership Group owns and operates venues, bars and nightclubs, and produces innovative events in the buzzy and vibrant social scenes of London and Brighton. Presently comprising of four venues (Colours Hoxton, Patterns, The Book Club and Queen of Hoxton), and organising over 1000 events a year, the company has a passionate team, with a record of success in the hospitality and event sector and we are now seeking a driven and experienced Social Media and Marketing Assistant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing all four of our venue brands to life through our social media channels, and will be responsible for digital strategy, creation of content, posting and growth.

The role will report into the Head of Marketing and will work closely with them on overall digital strategy and marketing plans across the Mothership venues.

Responsibilities of Social Media & Marketing Assistant:

  • Devising strategies to drive online traffic to the company websites and social media platforms.
  • Creation of Mothership’s social media schedule to fall in line with current company initiatives and external trends.
  • Working with the programming team to build awareness and increase ticket sales across all digital platforms.
  • Creating and implementing engaging digital marketing campaigns.
  • Responsible for all daily social media posts and stories – both scheduled and ADHOC – including management of Facebook and Instagram campaigns.
  • Creating original and engaging content, which is in line with the venue’s brands and TOV, as well as referring to key dates.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest trends and innovations in digital marketing and using these in your strategy, as well as feeding these ideas into the creative team for future events and brand plans.
  • Developing and maintaining a consistent unique visual brand identity and tone of voice across the Mothership estate.
  • Maximise followers and engagement for all venue brands across all digital platforms, including communicating with our customers online.
  • Reporting on social media analytics 4 times a month.
  • Creating original and engaging email marketing campaigns via Mailchimp.
  • Manage and organise the filing and labelling of all photography and other content digitally.
  • Help oversee photoshoots and produce creative ideas for them.
  • Ensure social media presence is on brand and updated regularly to fit current trends.
  • Connecting with social media influencers to create new partnerships and cross-marketing opportunities.
  • Work closely with the creative team on ideas and strategies for Mothership in-house events.
  • Working with the Head of Sales and Marketing to ensure that PR strategy is aligned with social media strategy.
  • To visit the Mothership sites weekly to gather live and up-to-date content.

Essential experience and requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience in digital marketing within the hospitality sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of digital media and social platforms, as well as web analytics and paid ads.
  • Good balance of commercial (sales) and creative (brand) marketing.
  • Solid understanding of Mailchimp.
  • Excited to keep up to date with the latest trends and innovations in digital marketing.
  • Experienced in-app photo editor plus are confident in briefing photographers, videographers, and graphic designers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring no typos on any social media platforms.
  • You live and breathe social media and know what creates a social buzz.
  • Outgoing personality.
  • Adobe Photoshop / ability to create your own graphics.
  • Experience within the event sector, promoting live and or club events.

Desired experience:

  • Basic HTML coding.
  • Experience in WordPress.

Salary: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
