THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Social Media Manager to lead our social media team at the Woodland Trust and drive forward our social media engagement strategy.
Responsible for leading and enabling the delivery of high-quality content across all our social media channels, the role involves planning the social media schedule; ensuring the team plan their content, making the most of external opportunities and shaping internal stories effectively to maximise impact.
The Social Media Manager will confidently work with our Senior Digital PR and Influencer Relationships Officer on the influencer strategy to collaborate on appropriate opportunities to maximise awareness of the Woodland Trust with new audiences. The role will also involve engaging with internal teams on content approach and sharing best practise along with carrying out and communicating monthly health checks on our channels, quickly responding to emerging patterns, audience behaviours or changes in algorithms.
This role is critical in helping us to inspire and engage our social media audiences with the work of the Woodland Trust and encourage people to take action with us.
This is a Hybrid working role, where you’ll work part of your time at home and part of the time from our Head Office based in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Our Hybrid Working Policy is flexible, and the frequency of time spent in your contracted office will vary across teams and job roles.
THE CANDIDATE
You’ll be a collaborative worker who enjoys active listening and taking action when it’s needed.
Your ability to lead and shape the direction of a team will be invaluable along with your curious nature which will enable to you to get the best out of our test and learn approach at the Trust. You will be insight led, ensuring our content approach is driven by audience insight and you’ll be comfortable disseminating this to internal teams.
You’ll have strong presentation, influencing and negotiation skills and be comfortable managing contentious issues on social media, escalating when appropriate. You’ll also be a confident communicator, used to working with a variety of internal teams, managing and prioritising multiple, sometimes conflicting projects.
You will be experienced advising on and developing social media strategies and will have extensive experience of all social media channels, preferably within a not-for-profit organisation.
