An excellent opportunity has arisen within the UK Marketing Communications team for a Content & Social Media Manager to work across Seasonal Campaigns, Home and Reputation.

The role will see the successful candidate working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including Influencers to create and deliver to customers, world-class social and digital content in support of our key marketing campaigns.

This role would suit someone who has experience of interpreting customer behaviours in the retail industry and understanding how they’ve changed over time. A keen awareness of developments and trends within social media and passion for delivering great content across varying social media channels.

The Hiring Manager for this vacancy is Dan Porter / Recruiter: Ellie Goldby

• The strategy and planning of content to amplify and support campaigns - to include social media, and influencing and joining up our approach in channels such as the Tesco Magazine and Tesco Real Food online
• Managing the production of content for digital channels: this could range from a FB canvas to a ‘how to’ video, to an interactive digital game, a Tik Tok or optimised version of a ATL campaign
• Coaching and managing a Content & Social Media Assistant
• Working closely with the Media Planning Team to develop the social paid media allocation for campaigns, to make sure we’re spending the right amount of money to reach our customers in the best way on the right channels
• Setting clear measures and KPIs for activity to make sure we’re constantly improving, and to show the impact and efficiency of our activity
• Managing budgets and make sure we have the right budget split between content production and paid media
• Building a strong relationship with our agency partners and Influencers – managing the day-to-day relationship with our creative and media agencies to create a high-performing, cross-agency team
• Developing strong relationships with platform owners (e.g. Meta, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok Google)
• Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
• Contribution to the development and active participation in a large high performing team, helping to give them the opportunities to be their best

• Content marketing across a range of channels, particularly social media channels
• Experience of social listening, reporting and identifying patterns and trends across the macro and micro environment
• Experience of working with customer behaviours in the retail industry and how they’ve changed over time
• A keen awareness of developments and trends within social media and content marketing
• A critical eye for reviewing creative content and copy and knowing how to adapt content for social media platforms to gain maximum cut through within a highly competitive environment
• A relevant degree or social media/content experience
