We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Social Media Manager here at Oak Furnitureland’s head office in Swindon. The role is a full time 12-month fixed term, maternity cover. We can offer hybrid working with Tuesday and Thursday in the office and the rest of the week from home. The Social Media Manager will be part of a close-knit team that’s responsible for creating and implementing engaging content that helps reinforce the style, quality and value of the Oak Furnitureland brand, and strengthens our position as the leading hardwood furniture retailer in the UK.
Engagement is key, and you will have a sound understanding of using social media insights and metrics to shape and inform future content plans. You’ll be as focused on finding creative, collaborative ways of driving engagement as you will on promoting results-driven activity to support wider marketing campaigns.
You’ll sit in the PR and Communications team, but will work closely with almost all areas of the business (Customer service, eCommerce, design, product, and retail to name but a few) so you’ll need to be able to work collaboratively - we’re all one team, united in going above and beyond to showcase the very best of the Oak Furnitureland brand.
You will also need to establish relationships with external stakeholders including social media and PR platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and schedule social media content for the brand each week
Work with wider team to shape and inform social media strategy
Get involved in quarterly social content planning meetings with key internal teams, ensuring activity is aligned with other channels
Create, approve, and implement social media content on each social platform - ensuring all images and content are on brand
Work with customer services and PR functional specialists as required to ensure delivery of key messages as required by the business
Align with wider team to support marketing campaigns and key events
Work to deliver UGC-focused content that lands key messages
Create engaging social copy that delivers key messages and accurately portrays the Oak Furnitureland brand tone of voice
Regularly review UGC content to ensure it aligns with the Oak Furnitureland brand values
Stay up-to-date on social media platform changes, updates and trends, including regular reviews of interior design and homeware trends alongside trending hashtags and topics
Monthly measures - review regularly against set KPIs and make recommendations for improvement and adaptations month on month
Identify and manage influencer relationships on behalf of the company brand to help create loyal brand advocates and support key campaign and product launches internally
Develop and manage relationships with like-minded brands to create scroll-stopping content

Essential Skills
Previous experience in a social media role with experience managing a variety of social platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tik Tok
A track record of setting up and optimising social media campaigns organically
Strong communications skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels
Good analytical skills and the ability to review social media analytics, metrics, and reporting to drive decisions
Experience of curating UGC content and delivering to brand standards
A high standard of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
Solid understanding of the role of paid social and how paid and organic work together
Video and photography experience would be beneficial but is not essential
