We are looking for a Social Media Intern to join our team and help manage our company accounts as well as a client account. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging content, monitoring comments and messages, responding to customer inquiries, and developing campaigns to increase engagement and brand awareness. About the Client: Barkus is a leading pet care company dedicated to providing top-notch products and services to pet owners. We are seeking a talented and creative Social Media Intern to join our team on a contract basis. As a Social Media Intern, you will play a crucial role in assisting our team with various tasks, including content creation, community engagement, and data analysis. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about social media, loves pets, and wants to gain practical experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About Fredicus: Fredicus is an independent design studio based in Toronto. We are experts in Brand, Identity and Physical Products.
Content Creation:
- Assist in creating engaging and visually appealing content for Barkus's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
- Collaborate with the social media team to develop content calendars and brainstorm new ideas for campaigns and promotions.
- Help curate user-generated content and gather assets from our customers to showcase their experiences with Barkus.
Community Engagement:
- Monitor social media platforms for mentions, comments, and direct messages, and respond promptly with accurate and friendly information.
- Engage with our online community by liking, commenting, and sharing relevant content.
- Participate in conversations and discussions related to pets, pet care, and Barkus's products and services.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Assist in tracking and analyzing social media metrics to measure the success of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights and recommendations to enhance social media strategy.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitors' activities to ensure Barkus remains at the forefront of social media best practices.
Research and Trend Identification:
- Conduct research on emerging social media trends, pet-related topics, and industry news.
- Identify opportunities for Barkus to leverage new platforms, features, or content formats to increase brand awareness and engagement.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and scheduling tools.
- Basic knowledge of social media analytics and tracking tools.
- Creative mindset with an eye for visual aesthetics.
- Passion for pets and understanding of the pet care industry.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in managing social media accounts (personal or professional) is a plus.
