PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Women and girls football in Wales is in the best place its ever been, but the games nowhere near won. Only 1 in 10 girls kick balls for fun, whilst confidence, visibility and awareness remain key barriers for female participation and involvement in football.
The Marketing and Social Media Executive will develop and deliver engaging marketing and media campaigns to support growth and retention across the FAWs womens and girls football programmes and initiatives.
The successful candidate will support the FAW to increase brand awareness of its womens and girls football programmes (including participation, refereeing, and coaching) and enhance digital engagement with key stakeholders and core demographics, including teenage girls, to inspire confidence and empower girls through football.
The Marketing and Social Media Executive will play a key role in supporting the FAW to deliver the Our Wales: For Her womens and girls football strategy, which aims to showcase and celebrate football as a sport For Her, raise awareness, and ensure 20,000 girls re playing football by 2023. Location:
The position is full time and based at the FAW Offices in Hensol. The post holder will be required to perform their duties outside of normal office hours (weekends) and/or in different locations across Wales based on key activity and campaigns across the season. The FAW operates a Hybrid Working policy.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY
The FAW are recruiting a Marketing and Social Media Executive to develop and deliver engaging marketing and media campaigns for the FAWs women and girls football initiatives and programmes. The successful candidate would increase digital engagement, brand awareness and exposure for a number of womens and girls football initiatives that support the FAWs Our Wales For Her strategic objectives of reaching 20,000 registered girls playing football by 2026 and furthering the number of women volunteering and working within the game.
The key accountabilities and responsibilities are as follows:
Develop and deliver a targeted marketing plan to drive girls participation and raise awareness of the FAW programmes (for example, the FAW Huddle www.Huddle.Cymru programme and BE Football programmes).- Develop and deliver an engaging digital media content plan to increase the visibility of the FAWs BE Football programmes, which currently include the BE Football Schools and BE Football Mentoring programmes and a new BE Football recreational programme which is currently under development.
- Manage and develop the BE Cymru Instagram channel, through creating and publishing shareable and engaging content that empowers girls and women to play, watch and follow the game in Wales.
- Work in collaboration with the FAWs Referee and Coach Education department to increase the number of women referees and women coaches through targeted marketing campaigns.
- Identify opportunities to create engaging content to raise awareness of the various ways for women to work in football.
- Work in partnership with our commercial partners to deliver their activations around our programmes and projects.
- Develop a relationship with key social media influencers, and work with them as part of the overall marketing strategy to raise awareness of our Womens and Girls programmes.
- Analyse trends, data, demographics, and other information that can drive wider growth and engagement across Womens and Girls football.
- Understand emerging digital and marketing channels, and how they can be utilised to better connect with new audiences.
- Support the Marketing Manager in identifying key opportunities to grow all aspects of the womens and girls game by planning and coordinating marketing and social media activities across the FAW channels.
- Maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders including the FAWs commercial partners, media partners, the FAWs grassroots department and with the wider grassroots game across Wales.
- Create and present regular performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the other departments to ensure key messages are aligned and on brand.
- The role may be required to support other areas of the Communications and Marketing departments where required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications:
Educated to degree level in marketing, media or a related field, or the equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Experience in managing social media accounts, preferably within the sports industry.- Experience coordinating marketing, content or media plans.
- Experience in using a variety of marketing techniques to target different audiences.
- Experience in creating content for social media channels using innovative tactics
- Experience of Microsoft applications, for example Word, Excel and Outlook are essential.
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:
A strong knowledge and understanding of womens and girls sport.- A passion to grow women and girls football in Wales.
- Personal attributes including Customer Service, Creativity, Client Relationships, Interpersonal Communication, and Written and
- Verbal Communication.
- The ability to work as part of a team but also without supervision.

- The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and two professional / personal references, to the satisfaction of the FAW. In addition, the FAW will ask to see evidence of right to work in the UK.
