What will I be doing as Insomnia’s Social Media Exec?
- 1. Content Creation:
- Conceptualise, develop and curate original, engaging content for our TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Snapchat
- Assist in the creation and editing of written, video and photo content.
- Liaise with third parties on campaign activations
- Attend events/visit stores and produce live social media content
- 2. Social Media Coordination:
- Plan, schedule and post across all platforms to execute a results-driven social media strategy
- Maintain a unified brand voice across all channels
- Collaborate with the Senior Marketing Manager to create a social media calendar which aligns with the wider business strategy e.g. seasonal promotions, new store launches etc
- Monitor social channels and research key audiences for industry trends.
- Community Listening and Engagement: Interact with users and respond to comments
- Review analytics and create reports on key metrics
- 3. Micro-influencer scouting and outreach
- Identify the Manchester BNOCs, foodies and micro-influencers and sign them up to our affiliate program
Essential skills/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field
- Proven experience in creating engaging social media content, specifically TikTok's and IG reels that trend
- Proficient photo and video editing skills, including experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) and video editing software (e.g. CapCut)
- Excellent social listening skills, to keep up to date with current affairs among the Gen-Z audience
- Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
- Confident working independently, self-motivated and organised, with impeccable time management skills and the ability to multitask
- Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Preferred skills/experience:
- Know the who’s who and what’s what of the Manchester student social scene
- Awareness of B2C social media marketing management tools (e.g. Hootsuite)
- Comfortable in front of the camera, as well as behind it!
- Strong understanding of historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
- Have experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
