Social & Content Executive
This is a hybrid role based in our Manchester office with flexibility for homeworking, so you must live within a commutable distance.
Sportsbreaks.com is a new customer brand formed in 2019 offering unforgettable sports travel experiences, brought to you by Destination Sport . We offer unrivalled sports travel experiences to the world’s most exciting sporting events, including the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Wimbledon, La Liga, Serie A and Primeira Liga games, as well as world-class UK Rugby Union games and UK football match breaks.
Despite being a new company, our team has a wealth of knowledge, with over 80 years of combined experience and an outstanding reputation in the sports travel industry.
The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for creating content for Sportsbreaks.com including written content and day-to-day management of social media channels. Your content will bring Sportsbreaks.com products to life, whilst ensuring brand guidelines and tone of voice are followed. The role will contribute towards Sportsbreaks.com’s marketing strategy, aiming to become the most visible, trustworthy, and comprehensive sports fan travel brand.
No two days are the same in this exciting new role, but on a typical day you will
- Develop compelling written content for blogs, website pages, email and social media, grabbing the attention of our target audience and showcasing products/experiences in an engaging way
- Manage Sportsbreaks.com social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn, including content planning, approvals, scheduling and optimisation
- Attend a number of Sportsbreaks.com events and talent appearances to gather visual content with a particular focus on TikTok and Instagram Stories
- Collaborate with Performance Marketing Team to understand priority keywords, utilising these in written content (including blogs and product descriptions) to support with the SEO strategy
- Work closely with Group Content Manager to strategise content creation and social media for the Sportsbreaks.com brand
- Collaborate with Partnerships Team to understand opportunities to leverage partnerships across content and social media touchpoints, ensuring relevant approval processes are followed
- Support with other online and offline marketing activity for Sportsbreaks.com as required
- Work collaboratively with Sportsbreaks.com’s external marketing and PR agencies
- Understand sports and travel industry market trends to provide creative idea generation towards Sportsbreaks.com content and wider marketing strategy
- As required, support with ad-hoc marketing activity for other divisions within Destination Sport Group
To be successful in this role we are looking for motivated individuals who have
- A minimum of two years of copywriting and social media management experience for a brand, agency or sports organisation
- An understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn with experience in managing such platforms and creating highly engaging content
- An understanding of content trends/strategies, including how this contributes to a wider B2C marketing strategy
- Excellent writing skills with a strong eye for detail
- The ability to demonstrate creativity and to develop and pitch ideas
- An understanding of the role of data and insight within content and social media
- Strong organisational skills, including Microsoft Office product suite
- Willingness to embark on occasional domestic and international travel for work purposes
