It's an exciting time to be part of our team with all of our award-winning Continuing Dramas that brings audiences together week after week. From EastEnders, Doctors and Casualty to River City and Pobol y Cwm, our programmes remain a constant source of gripping entertainment, featuring cliff-hanger storylines and much-loved characters with whom our viewers have grown up.
A fast paced BAFTA winning Continuing Drama about the staff and patients at the Holby City Emergency Department, charting the ups and downs in their personal and professional lives whilst tackling many controversial and taboo issues. Through great writing and visual flair the show balances gritty realism with high drama to keep its millions of dedicated viewers coming back for more, on-screen and on-line, week in week out.
Main ResponsibilitiesYou’ll report to the Series Producer
What will be expected of you:-
- Generate fresh and engaging ideas for multi-platform content that follow the Editorial vision of the programme
- Create and edit programme clips for social media using Adobe Premiere Pro
- Optimise digital assets, including editing aspect ratio and dimensions, adding captions, transitions, motion graphics, etc.
- Create original content using Photoshop
- Ensure content meets audience needs, supports the programme’s values and is consistent with the agreed editorial style and tone
- Assist with managing the production’s social media accounts, monitoring the accounts and scheduling content
- Work alongside the relevant team on marketing campaigns for Casualty to coordinate social media activity for the campaign
- Assist with social media filming and develop a positive working relationship with Talent and crew
- Research the archive and the programme’s history to source existing material that can repurposed for social media content
- Ensure compliance paperwork has been complete before publishing content
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following;
The Social Media Assistant will be expected to have a good understanding of the digital/broadcasting industry or an industry with similar brand facing business. In this context they will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of:
- Knowledge and passion for digital marketing and social networking; experience of spotting emerging social media trends and creating content across multiple platforms (including Instagram and TikTok).
- Creation and delivery of social media assets within broadcasting or an industry with a similar brand facing business
- Experience of assisting with the management of a social media account.
- Strong research skills.
- Knowledge and passion for Continuing Drama, especially Casualty
- Experience of editing/creating content on Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Excellent Photoshop skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication, with the ability to write creative and relevant Social Media posts
Desirable
- Self-shooting skills and experience
- Experience of editing using Avid.
- Paid social media campaign experience
