Role Overview
As a Social Media Assistant, you will provide essential support to the social media team in implementing and managing social media strategies. You will work closely with the social media and marketing team to assist with content creation, community management, analytics, and various other social media tasks. You will report to the Head of Brand and work fully in-house at our Team Valley Headquaters.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in creating engaging and compelling content for social media platforms, including writing captions, researching relevant topics, sourcing images or videos, and ensuring brand consistency.
- Help manage and monitor social media accounts, including scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and maintaining an organised content calendar.
- Assist in tracking and analyzing social media metrics to evaluate the performance of campaigns. Compile data, prepare reports, and provide insights to senior team members for further analysis and decision-making.
- Stay up-to-date with social media trends, platform updates, and best practices. Conduct research on emerging trends, hashtags, and engagement techniques to contribute ideas and suggestions to the team.
- Engage with the online community by interacting with followers, responding to comments and messages, and fostering positive relationships. Identify opportunities to spark conversations and encourage user-generated content.
- Monitor social media platforms for brand mentions, customer feedback, and industry-related discussions. Flag any potential issues or opportunities for the team's attention.
- Assist in conducting research on competitors' social media strategies, content, and audience engagement. Compile findings and present insights to the team for benchmarking purposes.
- Provide general administrative support to the social media team, including organising files, maintaining documentation, coordinating meetings, and handling other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 4-9 or above –Mathematics and English essential.
- Demonstrated interest in social media platforms, digital marketing, and emerging trends. Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) is expected.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey ideas and engage with the online community.
- Some familiarity with social media analytics and data analysis is desirable. Proficiency in tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, or social media management platforms is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritise assignments effectively. Able to meet deadlines and work collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Open to taking on new responsibilities and embracing feedback for growth.
- Ability to think creatively and contribute ideas for content creation, campaigns, and engagement strategies.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (such as Canva) and basic photo/video editing skills are desirable but not required.
