Social Media Assistant London, England

Hope and Homes for Children
Full Time London, England 24000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Hope and Homes for Children is looking for a passionate Social Media Assistant with excellent communication skills.

About the role:

You will be responsible for identifying social media conversations and opportunities for us to engage people in our cause and work. You’ll create content for our campaigns and appeals, and recommend, implement and monitor social media activity alongside the Digital Content and Marketing Lead.

You’ll join a brave, can-do organisation and do work that matters day in, day out. You’ll be encouraged to think and act big and you’ll be mandated and supported to make things happen. You’ll work with dedicated, passionate champions who are ready to take bold steps to inspire change by advocating and engaging individuals, communities and organisations across the globe in the foundational importance of family love for children.

About you:

You have demonstrable experience of creating social content across a range of platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and understand how to use social media to talk compellingly about a cause. With excellent communication skills, you are able to innovate ways to share complex information or stories.

About Hope and Homes for Children:

Hope and Homes for Children are leading a global movement that will make it possible for every child to grow up with a loving family. We fight for every child to feel the love and belonging of a safe family home.

Since 1994, Hope and Homes for Children has been working to stop the institutionalisation of children. The world doesn’t need orphanages. They harm children and they harm society. And shockingly, 8 out of 10 children in orphanages have family members who would care for them – but a broken system hoards money, makes false promises, and keeps children neglected and families exploited.

We’re 200 people, in multiple countries, inspiring organisations, including the UN, EU and governments around the world, to close the doors of orphanages forever.

Location:
Hope and Homes for Children’s London office, with flexibility and home working options for part of the week.

Contract Type:
Permanent

Hours:
22.5 hours per week, with flexibility, as we have generous flexible and home working practices.

Salary:
£22,000 to £24,000 per annum, pro rata

Closing Date:
The final cut off for applications is 17th April 2023 so please get in touch if you have the right skills, experience and passion for our cause.

To apply, please upload your CV and a brief cover letter (no longer than 1 page) which briefly summarises your passion for social media, how you meet the person specification and why you’d like this role. Please note, only applications with a cover letter will be considered.

Other information:
This post requires the post holder to have the right to work in the UK and may be subject to a DBS check.

HHC actively encourages equality and
diversity, and we look to recruit across age, gender, ethnicity and background as we believe diversity brings us closer to our mission of eliminating orphanages.

If you are care-experienced and have the essential skills and experience to do the job, we will invite you to an interview. We are always looking for applications from care-experienced individuals.
