We are looking for a SME Mortgage Underwriter
- Are you experienced in underwriting any of bridging, buy to let loans, commercial mortgages or property development loans, assessing loans to ensure they are within risk appetite and policy?
- Are you comfortable assessing applications from SMEs including analysing financial accounts to fully understand their business?
- Do you put the customer and their experience at the heart of everything you do?
- Do you have experience of developing processes and continuously seeking to improve them?
- Are you keen to be part of a start-up build and help develop the bank during a period of significant investment over several years?

Then this role could be for you.
We are looking for someone who has :
- At least 3 years’ experience in specialist lending as an Underwriter, covering any or all of Bridging, BTL, Commercial or Development. Where you do not have experience of all products, we can provide training.
- Comfortable understanding, extracting information and making informed decisions from company information including filed accounts and management information.
- Experience of the broker and SME marketplaces.
- Good knowledge of mortgage loan processing, compliance requirements and legal regulations within the mortgage industry. CeMap would be a nice to have, but not essential.
- Knowledge of FCA/PRA regulatory issues in both underwriting/finance and real property.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and in using underwriting systems.
The role reports into our Head of Underwriting.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
