The Corporate Governance & Secretariat function (CG&S) serves as principal advisor to boards of directors on corporate governance matters and leads and implements a world-class corporate governance practice throughout the Group. The CG&S function consists of c.230 FTE across 25 countries. It is led globally by the Group Company Secretary & Chief Governance Officer who reports directly to the Group Chairman and Group CEO
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of SMCR Relationship Manager
The Senior Managers Regime and Regulatory Accountabilities team exists to support the Group and Entity CEOs in discharging their responsibilities under the UK’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR).
The SMCR Relationship Manager will report into the UK Lead for the SMR&RA team and will be responsible for
- Supporting the CEO’s and Executive Chairs with their SMCR obligations
- Creating and providing bespoke SMCR training to Senior Managers and their delegates
- Creating and managing regulatory applications and notifications, including dealing with queries from the Regulators
- Creating and managing SMCR regulatory artefacts e.g. statements of responsibilities
- Managing change and BAU project activity within the team
- Supporting governance meetings – preparation of minutes and undertaking subsequent actions
- Supporting the wider team with the Senior Manager Regime, Certification and Conduct rule work streams
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and confidence liaising with senior stakeholders
- Excellent analysis and problem solving skills
- Ability to create and provide bespoke training to senior stakeholders
- Able to deal with ambiguity, conflicting views, and at pace
- Attention to detail, and ability to provide accurate and timely updates to key artefacts
- Be change oriented and able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines
- Understanding of the SMCR desirable
The base location for this role is London with hybrid working available
