Job description
We are recruiting for a sample machinist with a minimum of 2 years experience with stretch fabrics to join our sportswear / athleisure team on either a full time or flexible basis for at a new state of the art manufacturing unit in Derby
Sampling Machinist Responsibilities
- Working closely with pattern cutters and production management to create samples and advise on production work flows based on tech packs.
- Working with the development department to resolve any issues that arise in the sampling stages that could effect quality or the commercial production of the garment, with the ability to work from a written method of make and amend as required.
- Produce samples to the required specifications, advising where needed on construction techniques.
The Candidate
2 years + experience as a machinist using industrial sewing machine (flat lock, cover stitch, over lock)
Previous experience in sportswear preferred but not essential, although experience in a clothing background is required.
Good understanding of sampling processes and garment construction
Additional skills in sample cutting are highly desirable
Ability to prioritise and effectively manage own workload and deliver to deadlines
Contribute to the development of new ideas
Attentive and accurate to detail with experience of working with tech packs
Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
Enthusiastic and have a passion for developing new ideas
Ability to problem solve
Job Types: Full-time, Freelance
Salary: £11.00-£14.00 per hour
