Job description
Fabricator
We're looking for a Fabricator for our busy workshop. The candidate should have some knowledge and experience of fabrication and will know the basics of drilling, cutting, forming and shaping materials. The candidate should be confident in using power tools, hand tools and precision equipment to work and fabricate plastic and/or Perspex products. The candidate will be required to read technical drawings in order to plan and carry out the specified fabrication.
Responsibilities
· The role is dynamic, giving opportunities to work in different areas, primarily fabrication but also product assembly, use of industrial saws, line bending, laser cutters and polishing
· Training will be provided in weak areas but a good understanding of hand tools is required and experience with Perspex and plastic fabrication is highly desirable
Requirements
Essential
· Apprentice/City & Guilds/NVQ/ BTEC /Relevant Industry Experience
· A good understanding of hand tools
· Ability to work alone and as a team interacting with other departments, including receiving direction from management and senior team members
Desirable
· Experience of Perspex working and fabrication
· Experience of the tool room, including; saws, line benders, polishers and laser cutting equipment
